About me:

After growing up in the Seattle area, I spent several years as an academic librarian in Miami before returning to Western Washington. My writing about television can be found on MTV.com. I’m an active member of the Pacific Northwest Writers Association and hold a certificate in Popular Fiction from the University of Washington, as well as a BA in English from Whitman College and a Master’s in Library and Information Science, also from the University of Washington. My day job is in local government.

I am currently seeking representation for my women’s fiction romcom, The Advisory Role, which was a finalist in the PNWA literary contest. It’s a lighthearted retelling of Shakespeare’s As You Like It, transported to a modern setting where the glossy worlds of digital publishing and lifestyle television are contrasted with a quaint seaside community. I drew upon my longstanding love of advice columns to create the story of a columnist whose own personal life goes awry despite her penchant for advising others.

I am excited to be working on a new project! Tentatively titled How to Organize the Stars, it is a female-friendship focused take on Much Ado About Nothing set at a small liberal arts college.

My hobbies include running (I’ve completed ten half marathons, albeit slowly), hiking, cooking and baking, and attending live theater. When I’m not writing, I can often be found cozied up reading, engaged in some sort of shenanigans involving a shocking quantity of cheese, or meticulously plotting my next visit to Disneyland. I live in the Seattle suburbs with my patient spouse and two chubby cats, next door to my sister and canine nieces.
